ELIZABETH, NJ (November 06, 2012) Hayward Pool Products is taking salt chlorination to an unprecedented level with the introduction of Salt & Swim™ 3C. According to company officials, the technological advances represented in the new product will heighten pool owners’ comfort and convenience at less than half the cost of other forms of traditional chlorine.

Hayward Industries Global Product Manager, Sanitization and Chemical Automation, Ray Denkewicz said, “Salt & Swim 3C maximizes comfort and convenience, while minimizing the cost to pool owners. This product really delivers on all three levels. Our customers have come to expect the comfort and convenience associated with salt chlorination, and Salt & Swim 3C delivers that. But what is unique is that Salt & Swim 3C also delivers cost savings to consumers over traditional chemical forms of chlorine. The company reports that a single Salt & Swim 3C Cell produces 200 pounds of 100 percent pure-available chlorine. This is equivalent to 225 pounds of Trichlor (90 percent); 208 gallons of liquid chlorine (10 percent), which weighs more than one ton; 308 pounds of Calcium Hypochlorite (65 percent); 333 pounds of Dichlor (60 percent); or 571 pounds of Lithium Hypochlorite (35 percent).

The cost savings of more than 50 percent is unprecedented, Denkewicz said. “In short, Hayward has found a way to make salt chlorination more affordable for everyone. Finally, pool owners, who simply couldn’t afford it before, have a viable salt chlorination option available to them.”
