ELIZABETH, NJ (November 8, 2010) — Hayward® Pool Products takes great pride in its commitment to professional development and training of its pool product professionals.  Now, the leading pool product manufacturer is proud to announce that Hayward Eastern Regional Training Manager Scott Wiegman has been named one of the country’s top four instructors by the National Swimming Pool Foundation® (NSPF®).

NSPF, a non-profit foundation and the largest worldwide aquatic education and research organization, recognized Wiegman for being one of the top four instructors offering the Pool Operator Primer™ course. The Pool Operator Primer online course allows students to earn a Certified Pool/Spa Operator certification by completing the online course followed by a one-day Pool Operator Fusion™ classroom course, saving students valuable time.

Wiegman, himself, received comprehensive training and certification to teach the CPO® certification program along with aquatic-related professionals across a variety of industry segments including health officials, service professionals, builders, manufacturers, property managers, retailers, and academicians. The training these instructors provide has helped protect millions of swimmers by reducing hazards at aquatic facilities. “The Foundation can help, but it takes leaders like Hayward to elevate our industry through education,” noted Thomas M. Lachocki, Ph.D., CEO of the NSPF.

Wiegman said, “I’m proud of this recognition because of Hayward’s history of championing the importance of training for the success and growth of our business and the industry, in general. In fact, 95 percent of our sales force has been CPO-certified within the last two years.”

The CPO certification program, in particular, focuses on government requirements, pool and spa chemistry, testing, treatment, filtration, maintenance, and automatic feeding equipment.
