ELIZABETH, NJ (May 2, 2011) — Hayward® Pool Products announced the introduction of the Hayward® Pool Vac Classic™, a lower cost extension of its in-ground suction pool cleaners featuring its superior, silent turbine drive technology. The new cleaner employs Hayward’s proprietary programmed steering technology that assures more thorough, efficient coverage than random movement pool cleaners.

The Pool Vac Classic is the latest in Hayward’s full line of automatic pool cleaners created with the pool owners’ ease-of-use and trouble-free operation in mind. During operation, the turbine technology runs smoothly and silently without pulsating hoses or other noisy parts. The patented downdraft design of the vacuum wings efficiently captures small to medium-sized debris.

Its standard 32-foot, high-flow hose also reduces hydraulic friction for efficient operation. The Pool Vac Classic, which is available exclusively in the concrete model, comes with a 1-year limited warranty.

The Pool Vac Classic is powered by the pool’s existing filtration system, so pool owners don’t have to incur the expense of an energy-consuming booster pump.

The AquaPilot® adaptive steering assembly maneuvers the cleaner around the pool, eliminating the potential for tangles. The advanced pod propulsion capability eliminates the need for wheels and belts, ensuring consistent performance and a long product life.

For pools with a dedicated suction outlet, Hayward recommends the Vac Lock® safety mechanism designed with a spring action cover to hold the hose in place and to automatically close the suction fitting when not in use.

An optional skimmer vacuum plate automatically alternates between vacuuming the pool and skimming the pool’s surface with each cycle of the filtration system’s time clock. Also, an optional leaf canister interconnects in-line, trapping leaves and debris before reaching the pool’s filter system. Because of its see-through design, pool owners will know when it’s time to empty the canister.
